Ok so its possible i'm the only one who does this cos I'm notoriously bad at actually reading lyrics to songs. However, i'm hoping i'm not. So. . . Any amusing misheard lyrics and/or song titles.

To name but a few. . .

1. I spent almost a year thinking Pantera's "Walk" was called "Respect Rock" (I thought the lyrics went "Re. . . Spect. . . . . ROCK. . . . whaddya say etc."). Used to request it in clubs and things and could never understand why it didn't get played. Now I know. . . .

2. Judas Priest's "Painkiller" I thought was called "Kiss Kiss" cos the lyrics sounded like "Kiss, Kiss, nothing better" as opposed to "this is the painkiller".

3. Metallica's "Sad but true" which I always thought was called "Sex Control". Someone recently told me that they used to hear it as "Z-patrol" - I think James Hetfield needs better articulation!

I do this to almost every song that isn't perfectly pronounced... I just don't admit it when it happens Razz Why is misunderstanding/interpreting lyrics so embarrasing? No idea...

A work colleague heard:
"masturbate me new" in You've Got The Love by The Source and
"these fine birds in my head sing are we having fun yet?" in How You Remind Me by Nickelback

Two friends thought there was a song on Skunkworks called "So Long, Goodbye Now"

Another friend thought Enter Sandman went "Exit right, then turn right"

And finally, from You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate - "I believe in Malcolm"

I spent a very long time thinking the lyrics were..

Breathe.... Spit.... Walk.... Whaddya say...

Thought they were pretty crap lyrics so was never a big fan of the chorus until recently.

LMFAO

brilliant.Some great ones there!

i have none so good. Though i remember nearly wetting myself with laughter because a housemate at uni was walking around singing what sounded like Smack my bitch up by the Prodigy.
Infact she was singing "Smack my picture"
She was convinced she was right - in the end one of the boys got his cd out to prove it was infact smack my bitch up.

You wouldn't care - but there was an almighty outcry about the song at the time because of the video and the lyrics Wink
Bless her - still call it smack my picture when we are at her house Wink

I'm sure there are a few i have misheard over the years but can't think off the top of me head.

Area 54 related!

The end of losing grip, despite knowing the words, I can't help but hear "Everything must end" as "Everything must dance".

But I like the concept of everything dancing, so that's what I sing Razz

Another one from work, in Glamorous by Black Eyed Pea person Fergie, she apparently reminisces about the time when she had a moustache.

Ah, that iconic American automobile, the Ford Moustache...
