They abuse their position and there is no need for it. After Dimebag, we know how important they are, but it seems to me that most of them do their best to provoke you into something.

I'm sure we've all had our problems with them or is it just me?

For the most part I've found security to be very good. There are always a few venues (Carling Academy venues for instance) which tend to go overboard, that's mainly due to poor staff training. I've seen a few surfers handled very badly in my time but mostly, there's a murual respect thing going on.

I agree that it can depend greatly on the venue. Most places are good but I've had few fights with security solely coz they decided to lamp me after crowd surfing.
